9 Dog-Friendly Summer Pool Parties in the D-FW Area

As the summer season comes to a close, public swimming pools are preparing to close their doors for the season. However, before they do, many pools are offering a unique and fun experience for our four-legged friends – doggy pool parties. These events are a great way for dogs to cool off, socialize, and have some fun in the water before the pools are drained for the winter.

Each doggy pool party is slightly different, but one thing is for sure – cute costumes for the pups are generally encouraged. Some events allow owners to swim with their pets, while others are strictly for the dogs to enjoy on their own. Additionally, many events include contests with prizes, giveaways, and other fun activities for both dogs and their owners to participate in.

It’s important to note that all dogs attending these events must have proof of current vaccinations, and many events require owners to sign a waiver before entering the pool area. It’s always a good idea to check the event websites for specific requirements, possible schedule changes, and any other updates before attending.

One popular doggy pool party is the Pooch Pool Party in Carrollton. This event is strictly for the dogs, with no humans allowed in the pool. It takes place on September 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex and costs $7 per dog, with free admission for humans.

In The Colony, Hawaiian Waters hosts the Bow-Wow Luau, a luau-themed splash party for dogs. This event includes doggy swimming, contests, games, prizes, and concessions. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund. The Bow-Wow Luau takes place on September 22nd from 1 to 5 p.m.

Denton’s Dog Days of Denton event is a doggy takeover at Quakertown Park. This event includes free activities such as dog singing contests, a canine couture costume contest, and a contest for the best dog tricks. Food will be available for purchase, and there will be a concert by The Ticket’s George Dunham and the Bird Dogs. A swim party at the adjacent Civic Center Pool requires a ticket, which can be purchased online in advance.

Frisco’s Paws in the Pool event allows pups and their owners to splash, float, and paddle during separate sessions for small and large dogs. Admission is $9, and tickets must be purchased in advance. There is also a photo contest where participants can tag @PlayFrisco on social media for a chance to win a bag of doggy swag.

In Garland, the Wags and Waves beach party at Hawaiian Falls includes access to water attractions, vendors, concessions, and fun activities. Proceeds from this event benefit local animal nonprofits. Tickets are $25 in advance and $28 on the day of the event.

Hurst’s Doggie Dive-In event allows dogs to swim and enjoy the city aquatic center. Admission is $10 per person with a maximum of two dogs, and a concession stand will be open for refreshments.

Lewisville’s Doggie Dive-In event is for dogs only, but humans can watch and cheer them on. The event includes vendors selling pet-inspired merchandise and services, with admission prices available on the website.

Mesquite’s Doggie Splash Day at Vanston Pool includes a variety of activities for dogs and their owners, such as a pet swimsuit contest, trick or talent contest, dog paddle race, and diving contest. Admission is $5 per person with one dog, and $2 for an additional pet, with $1 for spectators.

North Richland Hills hosts the Doggie Beach Bash at NRH2O, where dogs and their families can enjoy the water attractions and white sands of Beachside Bay. Admission is $20 per person with a maximum of two dogs, with proceeds benefiting the North Richland Hills Animal Adoption and Rescue Center.

These doggy pool parties are a great way for dogs and their owners to have some fun in the sun before the summer season comes to an end. With a variety of activities, contests, and prizes, these events offer a unique and enjoyable experience for our furry friends. Be sure to check the event websites for specific details and requirements before attending, and don’t miss out on the chance to make some lasting memories with your canine companion at a doggy pool party near you.
