BKPSDM Kotim mengadakan simulasi CAT sebagai persiapan seleksi CASN – ANTARA News Kalimantan Tengah

BKPSDM Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim) recently conducted a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) simulation in preparation for the selection of Civil Servant Candidates (CASN). The simulation aimed to provide participants with an understanding of the CAT test procedures, particularly for those interested in participating in the CASN selection, whether as Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) or Government Employees with Employment Agreements (PPPK).

The simulation was facilitated by staff from BKN Regional VIII, who were invited to assess the testing facilities for the upcoming CPNS test. Kamaruddin Makkalepu, the Head of BKPSDM Kotim, emphasized the importance of the simulation in familiarizing participants with the CAT test format. He mentioned that the simulation was open to the public, with a limit of 200 participants, most of whom were contract or honorary employees within the Kotim local government.

The CAT test simulation was divided into three sessions, each lasting 45 minutes. The simulation closely mirrored the actual test, with the only difference being the reduced number of questions and duration. Kamaruddin highlighted the significance of conducting the simulation to help participants overcome any nervousness or unfamiliarity with the test system, ultimately increasing their chances of passing the actual test.

The decision to hold the simulation stemmed from previous experiences where many participants struggled with the CAT test due to their lack of familiarity with computer-based exams. By providing this opportunity for practice, BKPSDM Kotim aimed to minimize any potential challenges during the actual test and enhance participants‘ chances of success.

In addition to the simulation, a team from BKN Regional VIII Banjarmasin also assessed the readiness of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure owned by the Kotim local government for conducting the CAT test independently. Kamaruddin mentioned that Kotim had the option to conduct the test independently or at the BKN UPTD in Palangka Raya, with certain requirements needing to be met for independent testing, particularly in terms of facilities and infrastructure.

Kotim had prepared 80 computers, including 75 regular units and five backups, for the CPNS and PPPK selection process. Other essentials such as a generator to prevent power outages were also in place. The assessment by the BKN team aimed to ensure that all facilities were functioning correctly for the upcoming CPNS test to be held in Kotim.

Representatives from BKN Regional VIII Banjarmasin, Adhitya Wiradilaga, and Isnan Syamhudi, emphasized the importance of conducting simulations before the actual CAT test. They noted that previous experiences had revealed that many participants struggled with computer usage during the test, especially those accustomed to fieldwork. The simulation provided participants with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the CAT test procedures, reducing any anxiety and ensuring a smoother testing experience.

Overall, the CAT test simulation conducted by BKPSDM Kotim in preparation for the CASN selection process demonstrated a proactive approach to enhancing participants‘ readiness and increasing their chances of success. By providing practice sessions and familiarizing participants with the test format, the simulation aimed to create a more conducive environment for participants to excel in the upcoming CPNS and PPPK selection tests.
