Breeding Animals in Fields of Mistria: A Guide

Fields of Mistria is a charming farming simulation game that allows players to not only adopt animals but also breed them to unlock rare color variants. As you expand your farm and increase the variety of livestock, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into the exciting world of animal breeding.

To begin breeding animals in Fields of Mistria, you’ll need two opposite-sex animals of the same species that are fully matured. You can purchase these starter animals from Hayden’s shop, with more color variants becoming available through breeding. Small animals in the Coop mature in three days, while Barn animals take five days to reach maturity.

Once you have your suitable pair of animals, make sure there is enough space in their Coop or Barn, and then head to Hayden’s shop to purchase Heart Shaped Treats. These treats are specific to each animal and are essential for breeding. Feed one treat to each prospective parent on the same day to enable successful breeding.

The following day, you should see a stork icon next to both animals in the main menu, indicating that they have successfully bred. This status will remain for four in-game days before a baby is born on your farm.

Breeding higher-tier variants of animals in Fields of Mistria can be a bit more complex. To obtain a higher-tier variant, you’ll need to breed two animals of a lower tier together. For example, breeding two tier 1 animals will produce a tier 2 variant. There is a small chance of skipping a tier when breeding two animals of the same tier, but this is rare.

If you want to ensure that the offspring is a higher tier than its parents, make sure to breed two animals of the same tier. Once you’ve successfully bred a new color variant, you can purchase it from Hayden’s shop, although the price will be higher than the original options.

Seasonal variants of animals in Fields of Mistria add an extra layer of excitement to breeding. Regardless of the tiers of the parent animals, there is always a slim chance of birthing a seasonal variant (tier 6) child. These seasonal variants correspond to the season in which they were conceived, rather than the one in which they are born.

Breeding animals in Fields of Mistria is a rewarding and engaging aspect of the game that adds depth to the farming experience. By following these breeding mechanics and tips, you can unlock rare color variants and create a diverse and vibrant farm full of unique animals. So, dive into the world of animal breeding in Fields of Mistria and watch your farm flourish with a rainbow of colors.
