Celebrate World Cat Day, Thousands of Cat Lovers Bring Festivity to Me-O Cat Fun Day Event at GBK Senayan

In celebration of World Cat Day, thousands of cat lovers gathered to participate in the Me-O Cat Fun Day event held at the grounds of Gate 6 Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan Jakarta on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The event, which took place from 5:30-9:00 AM, was filled with various fun activities and competitions tailored for feline enthusiasts.

One of the highlights of the event was the unique cat-themed competitions, including a cracker-eating contest for cat owners, a marble race while carrying a cat, and other exciting contests. However, the most intriguing competition was the Me-O creamy treats eating contest for cats, where felines raced to finish a sachet of Me-O creamy treats with the assistance of their owners.

Feny Sibuea, the Brand Manager of Me-O Indonesia, expressed her excitement about the event, stating, „Today, we are celebrating World Cat Day, which falls on August 18, and of course, Indonesia’s Independence Day, which was celebrated on August 17. The goal is not only to engage the cat community but also the sports community, such as zumba, fun walk, cycling, roller skating, and more. We hope that they will also develop a love for cats, even if they do not have them as pets at home, but are willing to provide food to street cats.“

She further emphasized the importance of the event in creating a lasting impact on both cat lovers who have pet cats at home and animal lovers in general. „For those who do not have pet cats but are animal lovers, we hope they will be willing to feed street cats as a way of showing their love for animals,“ Feny Sibuea added.

The event aimed to foster a sense of community among cat lovers and promote compassion towards animals. It also served as a platform to raise awareness about the welfare of street cats and the importance of providing them with food and care.

In addition to the cat-themed activities, the event also featured a variety of food stalls and vendors selling cat-related products. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase cat food, toys, accessories, and other items for their beloved feline companions.
