Criticism of BLM for inadequate water supply and deaths of Utah wild horses

The Wild Beauty Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wild horses, reported that the horses had ventured onto the dried mud in search of water, only to break through the hardened layer and sink into the soft mud below.

Photographer Jennifer Howe captured the heartbreaking footage and photos of the trapped horses and immediately alerted the BLM, requesting emergency water for the animals. Shockingly, the BLM refused to provide emergency water, stating that wildlife must fend for themselves. This decision sparked outrage among animal advocates, with many questioning the agency’s lack of action in the face of such a dire situation.

Ashley Avis, the founder of the Wild Beauty Foundation, criticized the BLM for neglecting the welfare of the horses and accused them of treating the animals as disposable nuisances.
