DPP IKAPATTI Facilitates Alumni CAT Test Training Ahead of CPNS Exam

Alumni of UNPATTI (Pattimura University) in Ambon recently participated in a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) training session in preparation for the upcoming Civil Service Entrance Exam (CPNS) in 2024. The training session, which took place at the Faculty of Agriculture Ambon, was attended by 300 alumni and facilitated by the Central Leadership Council of the UNPATTI Alumni Association (IKAPATTI) in Ambon.

The CAT training session was led by a team of experts from UNPATTI, including Prof. Dr. Yance Tjiptabudi, a faculty member of the Law Faculty at UNPATTI. The goal of the training session was to prepare the alumni for the CPNS selection process, which is currently open for applications.

According to Agustinus Ufie, the Secretary General of IKAPATTI Ambon, the turnout for the training session was lower than expected. While the number of CPNS positions available this year is significant, only around 300 alumni participated in the training session. Despite the lower turnout, Ufie emphasized the importance of preparing alumni for the CPNS selection process to ensure they have a competitive edge.

The training session was fully funded by IKAPATTI, using contributions from alumni. Ufie highlighted that the funds collected from alumni are used to support activities such as the CAT training session, demonstrating the commitment of the alumni association to support its members in their career aspirations.

In addition to the training session in Ambon, similar sessions will be held in other regions of Maluku, including Central Maluku, West Seram, Tual City, and the Tanimbar Islands. The goal is to provide comprehensive training to alumni across the region to enhance their chances of success in the CPNS selection process.

The CAT system, or Computer Assisted Test, is a selection method that utilizes computers to assess candidates based on minimum competency standards. The system is designed to be user-friendly, allowing participants to answer multiple-choice questions by clicking the mouse. Participants are given a set amount of time to answer each question and cannot change their answers once submitted. Results are typically announced shortly after the exam concludes.

Overall, the CAT training session for UNPATTI alumni in Ambon serves as a valuable opportunity for participants to enhance their skills and readiness for the CPNS selection process. By providing support and resources to alumni, IKAPATTI is playing a crucial role in helping its members achieve their goal of becoming civil servants.
