The hoax was spread through various Facebook accounts, which shared screenshots of an article from an online media outlet with a misleading headline. The article was attributed to a journalist named Tommy Patrio Sorongan from CNBC Indonesia. Upon further investigation, Kompas.com found the original article published by CNBC Indonesia on May 7, 2024, with a different title discussing a meeting between Xi Jinping and Macron regarding a global ceasefire proposal during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

It is evident that the hoax creators manipulated the original article’s content and title to fabricate a sensational story about President Xi Jinping’s supposed declaration regarding Fat Cat’s death.
