Houstonians come together to save injured and abandoned wildlife post-Beryl – The Houston Landing

In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Beryl, Houstonians have come together to rescue injured and abandoned wildlife left in the wake of the storm. The Houston Landing, a local wildlife rehabilitation center, has been inundated with calls from concerned citizens who have found animals in distress. From birds to squirrels to raccoons, the center has seen a wide variety of animals in need of help.

One of the main challenges facing the Houston Landing is the sheer volume of animals that need assistance. With limited resources and staff, the center is working tirelessly to provide care and treatment to each animal that comes through its doors. Volunteers have been working around the clock to feed, medicate, and rehabilitate the injured wildlife.

Many of the animals brought to the Houston Landing have been injured as a result of the storm. From broken wings to dehydration, the animals are in desperate need of medical attention. The center’s team of veterinarians and wildlife experts are working diligently to provide the necessary care to help these animals recover and eventually be released back into the wild.

In addition to treating injured animals, the Houston Landing is also taking in orphaned wildlife that has been abandoned by their parents. Baby birds, squirrels, and rabbits are among the most common animals found in need of care. The center is providing round-the-clock care to these orphaned animals, feeding them and keeping them warm until they are old enough to be released back into their natural habitat.

The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming. Donations of food, supplies, and money have been pouring in to help the Houston Landing continue its important work. Volunteers have been stepping up to help with feeding, cleaning, and caring for the animals. The sense of community and compassion that has been on display in the wake of the storm is truly heartwarming.

As the cleanup and recovery efforts continue in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Beryl, the Houston Landing remains committed to helping the wildlife that has been impacted by the storm. With the support of the community, the center will continue to provide care and rehabilitation to the injured and orphaned animals that are in need. The resilience and compassion of Houstonians in the face of adversity is truly inspiring, and serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together to help those in need, both human and animal alike.
