PACC in need of adopters and fosters following discovery of 20 cats

The Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona is in urgent need of fosters and adopters after the Animal Protection Services team discovered 20 sick cats from a single home on Tuesday. These cats are displaying common symptoms associated with living in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions, highlighting the importance of providing them with proper care and a loving home.

PACC director Monica Dangler emphasized the strain that large impounds of sick animals place on shelter resources, including space and time needed to care for them. With the shelter’s cat and dog kennels already full or near capacity, the community’s help is crucial in finding homes for these pets as quickly as possible to free up resources for the newly arrived animals.

Currently, PACC is housing 702 animals in its shelter, with dog kennels at critical capacity and cat kennels approaching capacity. Additionally, 1,265 animals are currently in foster care, further highlighting the need for more fosters and adopters to come forward and provide these animals with the care and attention they deserve.

Pets adopted from PACC come microchipped, spayed or neutered, and with age-appropriate vaccinations, ensuring that they are healthy and ready to join their new families. The center is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, and more information can be found on the PACC website for those interested in fostering or adopting a pet in need.

By opening up your home to a foster pet or considering adoption, you can make a significant difference in the lives of these animals who are in desperate need of love and care. Your support will not only provide a second chance for these pets but also help alleviate the strain on shelter resources, allowing PACC to continue its vital work in rescuing and caring for animals in need.

In conclusion, the Pima Animal Care Center is calling on the community to step up and help by fostering or adopting pets in need. With the shelter at capacity and more animals arriving every day, your support is crucial in providing these animals with a safe and loving environment. Visit the PACC website or contact the center directly to learn more about how you can make a difference in the lives of these animals today.
