Powell woman set to compete in the world’s most challenging horse race

Dede Anders, a Wyoming native, found herself thrust into the world of the Mongol Derby sooner than expected. Originally selected to compete in the 2025 race, she was called up to the 2024 competition with just over a month’s notice. The Mongol Derby is known as the world’s longest and toughest endurance horse race, spanning 620 miles of the rugged Mongolian steppe.
