Banyuwangi, a regency located in East Java, Indonesia, is once again opening recruitment for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS). This time, they are looking to hire 89 CPNS, consisting of 36 healthcare professionals (nakes) and 53 technical staff. Banyuwangi Regent, Ipuk Fiestiandani, expressed her invitation to the talented youth of Banyuwangi to join hands in building their beloved region.
Ipuk emphasized that the selection process will be transparent and accountable, utilizing computer-assisted tests (CAT) conducted online by the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). She made it clear that there will be no room for favoritism or intervention in the selection process. Candidates are advised to prepare themselves diligently and not fall for any promises of assistance in exchange for a fee, as such claims are fraudulent and should be reported to the authorities.
One of the requirements for this CPNS recruitment is a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA). This year, the minimum GPA required is 3.25 from accredited study programs recognized by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN PT), the Health Education Center (Pusdiknakes), or the Independent Accreditation Agency for Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes).
For Banyuwangi, this GPA standard is not new. Since 2014, the regency has implemented a minimum GPA requirement for CPNS applicants. Despite GPA not being the sole indicator of human resource quality, it serves as an initial benchmark. Ipuk expressed her confidence in the youth of Banyuwangi, citing data from previous years that showed many candidates meeting the GPA criteria.
Data from the Civil Service, Education, and Training Agency (BKPP) revealed that in the past two CPNS recruitments (2019 and 2021), a total of 935 candidates passed the selection process. Of these, 684 (73 percent) were local residents of Banyuwangi.
The commitment to transparency, meritocracy, and local empowerment in the CPNS recruitment process reflects the government’s dedication to fostering a skilled and competent workforce for the development of Banyuwangi. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to seize this opportunity to contribute to the growth and prosperity of their community.
