Taking my cat from the UK to Spain: A journey abroad | Page 2

Moving to a new country can be a daunting experience, especially when you have beloved pets to consider. When my family relocated from the UK to a new home, we made sure to bring our 11-year-old cat with us. She had always been an outdoor cat, enjoying the freedom to roam and explore her surroundings. However, during our time in a flat with just a balcony, she adapted to indoor living without any issues. Despite the changes, she lived a long and fulfilling life, passing away at almost 20 years old.

In addition to our older cat, we also welcomed a new addition to our family – a tiny kitten that we rescued from our neighbors who were planning to drown her. This little ball of fur grew up to be a healthy and happy outdoor cat, enjoying the freedom of the outdoors and the comfort of our home. Sadly, she passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 18, leaving a void in our hearts.

Currently, we have two rescue cats who have been a part of our family for 12 years. These two feline companions, who were found in the same bin and are likely brothers, have brought us endless joy and companionship over the years. Like their predecessors, they too are outdoor cats who love to explore their surroundings and bask in the sun. However, they also enjoy coming indoors when the weather is too extreme or when they simply want to cuddle up with their human „slaves.“

One of the most important aspects of responsible pet ownership is ensuring that your pets are spayed or neutered. This not only helps control the pet population but also has numerous health benefits for your furry friends. By taking this step, we were able to prevent unwanted litters and ensure that our cats lived long and healthy lives.

Our experience with our outdoor living rescue cats has taught us the importance of providing a safe and loving environment for our pets. While they may enjoy the freedom of the outdoors, they also seek comfort and security in our home. By striking a balance between outdoor exploration and indoor relaxation, we have been able to give our cats the best of both worlds.

In conclusion, our journey with our outdoor living rescue cats has been filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories. From our first cat who made the journey with us from the UK to our current feline companions who have been by our side for over a decade, each cat has left a pawprint on our hearts. As we continue to cherish the time we have with our furry friends, we are reminded of the special bond that exists between humans and animals.
