Set up in 1980, Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre is India’s oldest & Asia’s largest animal shelter. Home to over 3000 animals, SGACC provides sick, wounded, and abandoned animals food, shelter, medication, kindness, safety, and care, for as long as they need it. Volunteer at SGACC and walk dogs, feed animals, organise fundraising events, foster abused or frightened animals. Dreamy job, right?

Y’all must’ve heard of People For Animals or PFA, for it is India’s largest animal welfare organization with a nationwide network of 26 hospitals, 165 units, 60 mobile units, and 2.5 Lakh members. Started as just a 2-room kindness club for distressed stray animals under the Def Col flyover by a group of school kids, Friendicoes SECA has now grown in leaps and bounds and is a much bigger shelter under the same flyover. Boasting an outpatient department, an in-house clinic for the strays that can accommodate about 150-200 animals at any point in time, two operation theatres, a lab & x-ray unit, as well as a sanctuary in Gurgaon that houses about a thousand animals, Friendicoes still needs your help!
