However, they knew that Poppy needed professional help to overcome her fears and anxieties. This led Krider to seek out a dog training program to assist them in addressing Poppy’s reactive behavior.
Through her research, Krider discovered numerous training seminars and workshops that offered solutions to common dog behavior issues. From learning how to stop a dog from lunging at other dogs to understanding the importance of training without treats, Krider was determined to find the best approach for Poppy. Krider’s journey with dog training began with her first dog, Laddie, an Australian shepherd with a strong herding instinct. Despite his initial challenges, Laddie eventually earned his AKC Good Citizen certificate and even tried his paw at agility training. However, not all dogs are cut out for certain activities, as Laddie demonstrated when he made a swift exit from an agility class.
Another one of Krider’s dogs, Molly Malone, had a tendency to be aggressive towards other dogs during walks. Krider recognized the need for professional guidance and enrolled Molly in a local dog school. With the help of knowledgeable trainers, Molly successfully completed the training program and overcame her aggressive behavior.
