Unidentified man playfully smacks wild boar during flood season

The recent floods in the east coast states of Malaysia have not only affected people but also animals who are struggling to survive in the harsh conditions. It is important for individuals to show compassion and offer help to those in need during such challenging times.

A disturbing video that went viral on social media showed a young man on a canoe hitting a wild boar with his paddle for his own amusement. The video, shared by the Facebook page „我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians,“ depicted the individuals on the canoe making loud noises and splashing the water with their paddle, seemingly trying to attract the wild boar towards them before striking its head.

The young men in the video could be seen laughing as they watched the wild boar struggle in the distance. The actions of these individuals were met with widespread condemnation from netizens who were appalled by their behavior.

„Why did you have to hit its head like that? Did the wild boar disturb you?“ questioned one netizen, expressing their disapproval of the cruel act. Another netizen commented, „I don’t know which is the animal, the one in the water or the one on the boat. But the one on the boat certainly needs help; mentally.“

Despite the backlash, some individuals defended the actions of the young men by arguing that having a wild boar on their boat would have posed a threat to their safety. „If a wild boar was on the canoe, the people on board will definitely be pushed off. Stop acting like you lot are animal lovers,“ one netizen remarked.

Others criticized those who condemned the young man, questioning whether they would be able to handle a similar situation themselves. „For those who condemn him, I want to see you guys bring a wild boar on your boat. Please have some sense. Don’t be hypocritical and try to show the world that you are more human than the rest,“ a netizen quipped.

In times of crisis, it is crucial for individuals to show empathy and kindness towards all living beings, including animals who are also struggling to survive. Instead of resorting to violence or cruelty, it is important to extend a helping hand and offer support to those in need.

As the floods continue to wreak havoc in Malaysia, let us remember to show compassion and be of assistance to both people and animals who are facing hardships. Together, we can make a difference and provide a ray of hope in the midst of adversity.
